Turkey Drop

Cheryl Hines ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") joins Freeform's new Thanksgiving movie "Turkey Drop," set to premiere on Saturday, November 23 at 9:00 pm (ET), during Freeform's Kickoff to Christmas programming stunt. The movie follows Lucy Jacobs (Olivia Holt), a small-town girl who has started her freshman year at a big-city university. When Lucy returns home for Thanksgiving break, she suspects she is about to get turkey dropped - dumped by her high school sweetheart. To avoid a Turkey Day travesty, Lucy steps out of her comfort zone during her hometown visit, proving she's not the same, play-it-safe girl she was with her high school boyfriend. As she takes control of her own life and makes choices that put herself first, she learns to let go of what's been holding her back, helping achieve what she truly wants out of life.

 

Wrap Battle

Freeform has begun production on Wrap Battle, a six-episode holiday gift-wrapping series where contestants compete to become the ultimate wrapper and take home a grand prize valued at $50,000. Sheryl Underwood will host, with Carson Kressley and Wanda Wen (founder of fine stationery and luxury paper brand Soolip) serving as judges.

 

Party of Five

Freeform announced the premiere date for the highly anticipated drama "Party of Five," debuting Wednesday, January 8. Party of Five will follow the five Acosta children as they navigate daily life struggles to survive as a family unit after their parents are suddenly deported back to Mexico. In a new iteration by original series creators Amy Lippman and Christopher Keyser, this beloved story of a young family bound by adversity will be retold through the lens of current-day themes and cultural conversations. A three-minute first look of the series was released with the moment the Acosta children say goodbye to their parents at an immigration detention center.

 

Everything's Gonna Be Okay

Freeform announces Josh Thomas' return to television with "Everything's Gonna Be Okay," premiering Thursday, January 16. Critically acclaimed for his series "Please Like Me," Thomas once again takes on a multifaceted role as creator, writer, executive producer and star of the 30-minute comedy, which introduces Nicholas (Josh Thomas), a neurotic twenty-something-year-old visiting his dad and teenage half-sisters, one of whom is on the autism spectrum. When Nicholas' trip is extended due to his father's untimely death, the siblings are left to cope with not only a devastating loss, but also the realization that Nicholas is the one who will have to rise to the occasion, move in, and hold it all together.

 

Atlanta

FX has ordered a fourth season of its Emmy® and Golden Globe® award winning hit comedy series Atlanta, it was announced today by Eric Schrier, President, FX Entertainment.  Production of seasons three (previously ordered on 6/7/18) and four – both eight episodes each – are scheduled to begin next spring.

2019 American Humane Hero Dog Awards

Bestselling author Beth Stern and James Denton ("Good Witch," "Desperate Housewives") will return to host the 9th Annual American Humane Hero Dog Awards(R), a star-studded annual celebration honoring outstanding working dogs from around the country. The 2019 American Humane Hero Dog Awards will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5 at The Beverly Hilton and will be broadcast as a two-hour special nationwide on Monday, October 21 at 8:00 pm (ET) on Hallmark Channel. The evening will recognize seven canine finalists and reveal which dog will be honored with the coveted 2019 American Hero Dog title. A combination of America's voting, which includes over one million public votes, and a panel of celebrity judges will determine which dog will be named the 2019 American Hero Dog.

 

Countdown to Christmas

Beginning October 25, Hallmark Channel salutes 10 remarkable years of Countdown to Christmas, the #-1 rated program event on television. Holiday-themed movies had gone out of vogue and networks stopped making them until Hallmark Channel brought the genre back to television in 2009. Countdown to Christmas is "must-see TV" for tens of millions of Christmas enthusiasts, and Hallmark Channel is the holiday gold standard other networks seek to emulate. The 10th Anniversary edition of Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas will showcase big stars from all areas of show business: Broadway, film, music, and television for the 2019 World Premiere of 24 all-new, original holiday movies.
