    The Ad Council is a private, non-profit organization that raises awareness for important causes, including quality of life for children, preventative health, education and environmental preservation. The Council asks members of the advertising community to donate their time and talent to create these public service announcements; and then asks media outlets to donate air time or print space to these cause-related commercials.
